Braglands Barn Garden

September & October

We like to keep the summer going as long as possible and make extensive use of late summer perennials.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Fern Osten' - one of the earliest flowering and most colourful of the many Miscanthus cultivars

The beautiful scent from this Hoheria sextylosa during August & September welcomes visitors as they pass the front gate

Front of the house in September

Mixed perennials and grasses in the front garden.

No-one told this butterfly his colour clashed with the flower!

Sun shining through the leaves of Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'

Mixed planting in front of the house

Japanese anemones play a vital role in providing mid to late season colour

Prunus sargentii is one of the first trees to colour.  Unfortunately, the colour is not long lasting/

Euonymous europaeus 'Red Cascade' at the top of the garden.
